Potatoes having a ball

So this weeks recipe was one given to me by one of my high school friends and it fit perfectly into my vegetable loving older daughter's food pyramid. It is Potato Spinach balls. There is no link for this one but Ill add pics of the recipe:

The only changes we made to this recipe was my daughters wanted regular cheddar cheese instead of PepperJack cheese and instead of frozen spinach we used bagged spinach. My new house is still in the process of being ready so this weeks adventure was done  at my dads house.

Here is our adventure:

My potatoes all naked and ready to go

My oldest daughter shredding the cheese.
I always seem to get her with a weird expression on her face

Chilling the potato balls (or globs with my handywork)

I didnt get a pic of them in the oven but this is them all done. There was still some flour on some of them. (Not my best work....not my worst either)

So that was our adventure. I plated them up for my girls and then I waited patiently as my kids tried them and I hoped for the best.

Rating time!!!!
My girls rating: 3/3 really enjoyed them and we ended up eating both trays of them in no time.
My thought: I liked them alot when I added ketchup or ranch to them and they were ok when they were plain. Ill add it to my recipe book....when i find it in this mess of boxes and junk from moving.

So a few weeks ago for New Years my kids and I made key lime pies. Well I was asked to make them again for my families Super Bowl party so we will be making them again.. And since last time I didnt take pics or make a blog about the pies , Ill do it next week for my recipe and Ill post the recipe on here. Althought last time I couldnt find key lime juice so I used a mixture of lime and lemin juice and it turned out great so Ill do that again this coming week.

If anyone wants me to try a specific recipe then please leave it in the comments below and Ill give it a try. Itll be hard to sell to my kids though if there is meat in it....i have to try really hard to get them to eat meat.  Or if anyone has their own recipe they made and they want me to try it out for myself then Im definitely down for that. After I finish moving into the new house then Ill be able to maybe do more than one recipe throughout the week.

You say potato I say ...mmmmmm

These weekend we decided on some potato soup because of multiple reasons. 1. Its alittle chilly outside. 2. My oldest doesn't like meat for some reason. and 3. Potato soup is yummy

We are in the process of moving so we will be skipping a step that involving a food processor because....I cant find it....But hopefully it turns out alright.

Here is out adventure:
ingrediants...ASSEMBLE!!!

My oldest doing her favorite part...using a knife....not worried at all but I better watch to be safe

chopped onions and butter getting to know each other

potatoes and onion/butter mixture with broth starting to look like soup

added heavy cream and some cheese to give it extra yumminess

Alittle dill

Let my youngest add the cayenne pepper....might have been a mistake....we shall see

patiently waiting for  finished product

It is done! didnt turn out like the recipe picture probably because we skipped the one step....it has nothing to do with my inexperience with cooking...nope

Well it smells amazing!! and our mouths are watering. Time for the tasting

Rating time:
My girls rating: 3/3 thought it was delicious but could have used less cayenne pepper but still amazing
My rating: Definitely going in the recipe book for future use. Next time there will be less pepper but even with it being extra spicy I loved it

I hope all my followers (im sure I have some) enjoyed some of my recipes as much as I enjoy making them.

You Pepper believe it!

After a long battle with my daughters (there were casualties) ... We finally decided on a recipe. My oldest refuses to eat me no matter hard I try to get her to eat some so picking recipes are now turning into debates.

We decided this week to do stuffed peppers. You can find the recipe here... Click this thingy

We had alot of fun making it and the came out looking alot better than I thought they would.

Here is our adventure:
I caught her by surprise!!

My oldest cutting up the peppers

Got everything I need

prepping the peppers

Started with the green onions and later added the tomatoes, basil, salt, pepper, and feta

Back in the oven for a few

not the prettiest meal Ive made but I love it just the way it is

CLose up tiiiiime!

So overall it was a nice recipe. Not too difficult but not too easy. Two of my kids helped the the third one was too distracted by the dog that she didnt help all. Kids these days

Rating time!
Girls: 2/3 didnt like the taste of the whole thing so barely ate any. The third one ate the greenpepper but didnt like much else
Me: I liked the taste and I think Id enjoy making it again. Also it made my house smell yummy. So Ill Ill be saving it in my phone but not in my recipe book.

I think I need to start looking for some vegen websites or something since my oldest refuses to eat meat. Any suggestions? let me know

I quiche you not

Happy New year all! I didnt post anything the last two weekends because I was out with family for the holidays. For new years we made a Key Lime pie for a family party. Here is the recipe for the pie. Click here. The pies turned out amazing even though I couldnt find key lime juice. So I used lemon juice and alittle lime juice. I didnt have my camera and didnt take any pics but it looked and tasted awesome.

Todays recipe was Asparagus quiche.....my oldest picked the recipe...I was surprised. Here is the link: Click for quiche

Here is our adventure:

My helpers cut up the asparagus so i could steam it

Here is the bacon waiting to be sizzled

prepping the pie crust  and adding the asparagus

pop them in the oven for my babies and me

all cooked up and ready to go

Ready for my close up!!!!!1

So they turned out smelling pretty good and looking good.

Now its rating time:
My girls rating: All three werent fond of the asparagus. They liked the rest of the stuff though
My rating: It wasnt the best thing i ever tasted but it wasnt bad. I WONT be adding it to my recipes because Im the only one who like it. I guess they all cant be winners
